The Rio Grande is a small slicer tomato that grows up to around 4 oz. We recommend throwing this variety into a salad because of its petite size. What this tomato lacks in size makes up for in flavor! It is packed with acidity and sweetness. One of the tastiest Roma-type varieties out there. This variety produces heavy yields on compact plants that will grow all season long.

Semi-late tomato variety (75 – 80 days) with determined growth, for summer-autumn cultures, in the field.

Tomato-Rio Grande Dizengoff Plants have a balanced port and are very productive.

The fruits are oval, almost cylindrical, with an average weight of 90-120 g.

Average production 60 – 70 t / ha.

It shows resistance to Verticillium and Fusarium.

Cultivation Advice Tomato Rio Grande

Sow in spring 1/16 inch deep.
Germination takes around 6-14 days at 65-75F.
Transplant the seedlings when large enough to handle into 3-inch pots.
Grow on under cooler conditions and when about 8 inches tall,
either plant in their growing position in the greenhouse or gradually acclimatize them to outdoor conditions and plant out 18 inches apart in a warm and sunny spot in moist, fertile well-drained soil and keep watered.
