Description
Single Superphosphate Fertilizer (Artal SSP) | 50kg also known as ordinary calcium phosphate, referred to as calcium, is a phosphate fertilizer directly produced by the decomposition of phosphate rock with sulfuric acid.
The main useful component is calcium hydrate hydrate hydrate Ca(H2PO4)2·H2O and a small amount of free phosphoric acid, and also contains anhydrous calcium sulfate component (useful for sulfur-depleted soils).
Superphosphate contains pp. 514% to 20% (80% to 95% of which is soluble in water) and is a water-soluble quick-acting phosphate fertilizer.
Features & Benefits of Single Superphosphate Fertilizer (Artal SSP) | 50kg:
Dual-Nutrient Power
Plant-Available P₂O₅: Stimulates root growth, flowering, and energy transfer.
High Sulfur (12%): Essential for protein synthesis, oil crops, and allium family (onions/garlic).
Soil Amendment Properties
Acidic pH: Counteracts alkaline soils (pH >7.5); unlocks Fe/Zn/Mn.
Gypsum (CaSO₄): Improves sodic soil structure & water infiltration.
Cost-Effectiveness
Lowest cost per unit P₂O₅ vs. MAP/TSP/DAP.
Delivers S + Ca “free” with P.
Crop-Specific Advantages
Crucifers: Broccoli/cabbage (high S demand).
Legumes: Peas/beans (P for nodulation).
Pastures/Grains: Slow-release P in cold soils.
Typical Composition:
| Component | % | Function |
|---|---|---|
| P₂O₅ (Total) | 18–22% | Root growth, flowering, ATP production |
| S (Sulfate) | 11–12% | Amino acids (cystine/methionine) |
| Ca (Calcium) | 8–10% | Cell walls; counteracts soil salinity |
| Gypsum | ≈50% | Soil flocculation |
Application Guidelines:
| Method | Rate | Placement |
|---|---|---|
| Broadcast | 200–400 kg/ha | Pre-planting; incorporate |
| Banding | 20–40 kg/ha | 5cm below seed (avoid contact) |
| Fruit Trees | 500–1000 g/tree (drip zone) | Annual spring application |
| Pasture | 150–300 kg/ha | Every 2–3 years |
Applications:
- SSP is one of the forms of phosphate.
- SSP supplies sulfate sulfur, one of the other important nutrients in all soils.
- SSP supplies calcium.
- The ratio of P and S suits many crop and pasture needs.
- Both the P and S are in readily available forms.
