Description
Hydrated Lime, Calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)2), also called slaked lime, is a white powder produced commercially when quicklime is mixed with water. The colorless, odorless, non-flammable white powder is commonly used as a flocculant in water and sewage treatment as well as many other commercial applications.
Applications:
- It is used in a variety of industrial applications which include;
- Water treatment.
- Anti-stripping agent in asphalt.
- Soil stabilization.
- Cement industries.
- Glass industries.
Properties:
- Hydrated lime is a fine, white powder with a high pH level, typically ranging from 11 to 12.5, making it highly alkaline.
- It is sparingly soluble in water, meaning it dissolves only to a limited extent, forming a suspension called lime water.
- It has a wide range of applications due to its alkalinity, absorbency, and ability to react with various substances.
Hydrated Lime Product Features:
- It quickly raises soil pH. Adjusting the soil to the proper pH helps plants to grow & strengthen by making it easier for plant roots to take up nutrients in the soil.
- Helps neutralize soil acidity and “sweetens” the soil. Do not mix with fertilizer before use.

- For gardens, it works around each plant & water normally. For potted plants, mix one tablespoon of Hydrated Lime in one gallon of water & apply as you would normally water.
